The Bartlett is located in central London on UCL's main Bloomsbury campus. London is the global centre for the built environment and a constant source of inspiration, with endless examples of the built environment working at its best. It is a global centre for finance and business, and the home of the world's largest cluster of built environment, engineering and creative architectural firms. As the UK's largest and leading faculty in the field, the Bartlett is ideally positioned in the centre of this cluster. Professor Alan Penn, Dean of the Bartlett summed it up perfectly when he said: "What Boston is for medicine and Silicon Valley for IT, so London is for the built environment sector." The central location of the Bartlett provides our students with an abundance of professional and social opportunities that no other city can compete with. Hundreds of art galleries, museums, libraries, bars, restaurants and theatres make up an unparalleled social scene. London is also the home of British business, with many leading industry organisations housing their headquarters in the city. For Bartlett students London offers a wealth of opportunity.
As a responsible citizen, the Bartlett often produces work that focuses on the city it calls home. To view a selection of these, please visit the links to the right of this page.
