02 July - 07 September 2012
Location: The Bartlett School of Architecture, Wates House

The Bartlett Summer Foundation is a new course created
to introduce and prepare students for a future career in architecture
and architectural education. Running from 2nd July to 7th September, the
ten-week program will provide students with a unique creative platform
to improve their design communication skills as well as their individual
conceptual and critical thinking.
Students of our inaugural
year will explore ideas of architecture as a backdrop and architecture
as an event through observation as well as design proposition and
construction. These architectural speculations will not only house and
frame performance and event, they will also perform and become an event.
As a starting point for these speculations students will be asked to
investigate London’s transformation as it seeks to host its third
Olympic games.
