billboards everything seems familiar yet unknown. You speed
by panoramic vistas and suddenly feel adrift in space.
Leaving Los Angeles you travel out and up to the desert, past the glitter of lights to enter the galaxy of stars.
"If L.A. is space, the Mojave is truly outer space."
The Future ahead, the Past reflected in the rear view mirror.

In the Artificial Kingdom of Las Vegas visitors take daily tours of Luxor, Grecians serve cocktails, muzacs piped out to the pool of Paradise Ranch.
It has been observed that LA is a city of illusion "anything may turn out to be anything else, and there is no way of knowing because nothing has a shape of its own...."
