Postgrad Diploma in Professional Practice & Management in Architecture (ARB/RIBA Part 3)

Overview

From January 2012 the Bartlett is offering two new part-time Postgraduate Diploma Part 3 programmes (for UK and non-UK educated applicants) to meet the newly revised ARB/RIBA regulations for Professional Criteria and Experience in Architecture:

Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Practice & Management in Architecture (ARB/RIBA Part 3)

Applicants must have already obtained UK ARB/RIBA Part 1 and Part 2 exemption or ARB Part 1 and 2 through the ARB Prescribed Examination.

Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Practice & Management in Architecture (ARB Part 3)

This is for non-UK applicants, who may have obtained RIBA Part 1 and/or Part 2 at outside UK or have architectural or built environment qualifications from non-UK Schools, and have yet to obtain Part 1 and/or Part 2 through the ARB Prescribed Examination.

The programmes enable candidates to acquire and demonstrate the knowledge, skill and judgement in professional practice and management that is required of a UK registered architect.

Structure

These are Part-time taught modular programmes, starting in January, and comprising 6 six-week modules that can be completed over a 12 or 24 month period. The first 5 modules follow the 5 topic areas identified by ARB/RIBA in their revised Criteria. On passing the five modules the candidate will present for a sixth module, including a group presentation and individual oral examination, in December.

Programmes are supported by an extensive lecture programme running from January to May (50 lectures, mostly evening, but some full-day), plus seminars and tutorials.

In addition candidates will attend a minimum of four one-to-one tutorials, be encouraged to join study groups, engage in the Moodle Virtual Learning Environment and attend revision seminars.
