Flow Network Analysis by Martin Zaltz Austwick, Lecturer in Advanced Spatial Analysis

Network analysis has tried since the 1970s to understand the inter-relation of human beings and their structures, and the partitioning, resiliences and vulnerabilities of social and functional networks. It's only in recent years that this network theory has incorporated time-dependence and spatial relationships. Flow networks, where connections are defined by the volume of flows between locations, require both of these strategies to adequately explain them. In this talk I will cover my work on the London Bike Share scheme - a detailed and complete dataset which represents a robust starting point for understanding and developing these ideas.
