Visiting Research Students at CASA

You can apply to come to CASA as an Affiliate PhD student if you are registered for a PhD at an overseas university and want to spend a period of 3 to 12 months at CASA undertaking research which is complementary to the Doctorate/PhD project at your 'home' university.

All students whose first language is not English must be able to provide recent evidence that their spoken and written command of the English language is adequate for the programmes for which they have applied. Full details on UCL's English language requirements can be found on this page.

Students will either be charged at the UK/EU rate or at the the Overseas Student rate.  The rates for 2011/2012 are:

  • UK/EU: £4,000
  • Overseas: £14,260

For further details on how to apply to study at CASA as a visiting research student please go to the UCL Visiting Research Students page.

When completing the UCL Graduate Admission form, you must state 'Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis' as the UCL department you are applying for, otherwise your form will not reach us. In addition, we request a 1,500-2,000 word research proposal to support your application; we will not be able to consider your application without it.

Please also send a full copy of your application form together with your research proposal to:
