The 2012 DPU Torch Relay

15:00 - 17:00 06 September 2012

Location: 34 Tavistock Square, DPU building.

Missed the opportunity to carry the Olympic torch? Well here’s your chance to be like one of the 8,000 official torchbearers!

Olympic Torch 2012

The DPU and the charity Children of the Andes (COTA) bring you the genuine torch right to the heart of Tavistock Square.

The DPU is delighted to share this unique opportunity with our UCL colleagues and students. The Olympic Torch will visit DPU on Thursday 6th September 3 -5 pm, as part of the Fab 8,000 people challenge.

Caren Levy, DPU’s outgoing director, will mark this special occasion by literally and symbolically passing the torch to the new DPU director, Julio D. Dàvila.

Join us to witness this important change for the DPU and grab your chance to be photographed holding the torch. For your chance to capture this historic moment just make a donation on the day to the charity Children of the Andes in support of their work with vulnerable children in Colombia. Others have been charging £15 for this opportunity at the Olympic Park. We hope that you will be as generous as you can, starting from £1.

Children of the Andes has the challenge of finding 8,000 people who want a photo with the torch. Invite your friends to take part in the challenge and help this good cause.
