Mogadishu | Forgotten Past & Distant Futures

05 July - 05 August 2012

Location: Swiss Cottage Library, 88 Avenue Road, London NW3 3HA

Mogadishu

Mogadishu – Forgotten Pasts & Distant Futures is an architectural installation that charts the urban transformation of Mogadishu, from the late 19th-century to the first few decades of the 20th-century. Presented in a unique sitespecific
structure inside one of London’s iconic modernist buildings, the installation allows, for the first time, a broader audience to engage with this aspect of the city’s history.

This project is designed and curated by Rashid Ali as part of the British Council’s International Architecture and Design Showcase 2012 (21 June – 23 September); a global gathering of cultural projects that investigate architecture and design
from across the world, presented for the London 2012 Festival.
