Gynna Millan

Gynna is an architect and an urban designer for development. With an 'user-focused' approach she has developed a strong background in web and graphic design, and gained wide experience working with tools and designing platforms for development, such as participatory video, video facilitation, video production and post-production and online knowledge sharing.

She has international experience using video for documentation and development planning in India, Brazil, Haiti and Bosnia & Herzegovina. Currently she coordinates the project Whose Olympics?, an action research project that aims at exploring the transformations of London's open spaces under the influence of the Olympics Games in 2012. The project uses video and digital social platforms to facilitate the visual interaction between citizens perspectives and physical transformations. The final output of the research is a short documentary film that will be launched during the summer 2013. Gynna's other and equally important research interests are: Communication Design, Cartography, Geoinformatics (GIS), Visual Anthropology and Communication and Media. Gynna teaches master sessions in Media for Development in the MSc Environment and Sustainable Development at the DPU.
