Malcolm's talk will
address the nature and necessity of EU regulation in this field, link
EU action to major environmental threats such as air quality, noise and
climate change, and draw on examples in particular in relation to
vehicle standards and biofuels.
About the speaker
Malcolm Fergusson
has worked on environmental issues in the energy and transport sectors
for 27 years. His specialist areas have included energy demand
modelling, taxation and regulation of road vehicles, aviation and
biofuels, and wider environmental policy analysis. He became a Senior
Fellow at the Institute for European Environmental Policy in 1993, and
Head of Climate Change at the Environment Agency in 2008. He is
currently an independent consultant.
