UCL-Energy PhD student Sofie Pelsmakers has been named as one of the 12 women influencing sustainable architecture by respected publication The Architect's Journal.
Prior to joining the UCL Energy Institute, Sofie co-founded Architecture for Change, a not-for-profit environmental building and research organisation, with the mission of challenging the way we design and build. In 2012 Sofie published a definitive guide to sustainable architecture, The Environmental Design Pocketbook, which distils environmental science, legislation, and guidance into an easily usable guide for both students and architects
