Welcome to The Bartlett School of Graduate Studies, the source of some of the most outstanding minds and most influential research in the field of the built environment.
Our work tackles some of the greatest challenges facing mankind, in areas such as global health, human well-being, sustainable cities, urban spaces and energy. For that reason, The Bartlett School of Graduate Studies embodies The Bartlett’s belief in the value of interdisciplinary collaboration.
Our postgraduate programmes attract ambitious students from a host of backgrounds and engages them in fields that demand the sharing of knowledge and ideas, with each other and with other schools across The Bartlett and UCL. Collaboration between professional and scientific disciplines, and with external partners, is at the core of our consistently world-leading, multi-million pound-funded research, in areas such as space syntax, environmental performance, lighting, sustainable heritage and facilities management.
We’re global in character and global in outlook. There’s a richly international student body and staff, and our research, partnerships and knowledge-sharing activities address all kinds of built environment from internal spaces, building systems and virtual environments to rural areas, towns and mega-cities right across the five continents.
We are part of The Bartlett, the faculty of the built environment at UCL, one of the world’s leading universities. Here, at the heart of a world city, we make the most of the influential academic and professional networks on our doorstep, and the infinite case-study that is London.
