Welcome to The Bartlett, UCL's world-leading faculty for multi-disciplinary education and research for the built environment. Seven sections cover the full spectrum of built environment domains, including architecture, complex built environment systems, construction and project management, development planning, energy, town planning, space and spatial analysis.

The Bartlett has a world-leading reputation for education and research, attracting students and staff world-wide. Its wide-ranging undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes are very highly regarded, offering over 1,600 students the chance to learn both specialist and interdisciplinary subjects, engage with inspiring academics and practitioners, enjoy the benefits of studying UCL and in the centre of London, and go on to pursue their chosen career to their maximum potential.

As the UK's largest multidisciplinary faculty of the built environment including architectural design - over 300 staff, including over 30 professors - the Bartlett was the highest rated institution in its field for research in RAE2008. This allows it to tackle the most significant interdisciplinary issues facing the world including UCL's Grand Challenges for Sustainable Cities, Intercultural Interaction, Human Wellbeing and Global Health.

The Bartlett also maintains a close and active relationship to numerous other centres of built environment education, research and business in London. It therefore works in partnership with London's exceptional concentration of built environment firms and agencies, acting in local contexts across the globe. 

The Bartlett is an urban institution engaged with urban phenomena. It offers a vibrant centre of exchange for the built environment, acting as an academic, cultural and professional hub where leading research is announced and discussed, lively debates are hosted and encouraged, and innumerable exhibitions, conferences, public talks, screenings and other events all take place.
