Cities Methodologies – the annual exhibition and events programme run by Urban Lab, which showcases recent innovations in urban research methods and practices – took place in April for the fifth consecutive year.
Housed in the UCL Slade Research Centre, the show featured 38 individual and group participants, from a wide range of backgrounds, and included anthropologists, artists, architects, planning practitioners and academics.
Urban Lab Co-Director Dr Ben Campkin, interviewed for The Urbanist programme on Monocle radio, said: “We think of the exhibition (…) as a kind of street or market place of research ideas.
What we try to do is bring lots of different approaches to common urban questions together, and for work to be put in juxtaposition.”
Exhibits were selected by a curatorial committee made up of academics from across UCL, including The Bartlett School of Architecture and The Bartlett Development Planning Unit.
