Doctoral student Miao Tian (Julie) co-organised five sessions at the recent Regional Studies European annual conference in Delft, Netherlands.
The conference took place on 13th to 16th May 2012. The five sessions were entitled 'Technopoles of the
world revisited' and took as their departure point the work of Manuel Castells
and Peter Hall on the contribution of planned science parks and science cities
to urban and regional development. The sessions were introduced by Bartlett School of Planning’s
Professor Sir Peter Hall and also included a wide range of contributors
from around the world including Professor Henry Etzkowitz of 'triple helix'
theory fame.
Further information about the conference can be found on the Regional Studies website.
Julie was recently made student representative of the
Regional Studies Association and is due to attend and present at the
forthcoming Regional Studies global conference in Beijing, China, on the 24th to 27th
June 2012
