Dr Jung Won Sonn invited to present a paper at RSAI's fourth international conference in Beijing, China.

The Regional Science Association International (RSAI) held its fourth International Conference this month on 3 - 6 July 2012 at Renmin University of China, Beijing.  The subject of the conference was Regional Science and Sustainable Regional Development.

Dr. Jung Won Sonn presented his a paper 'Innovation, Communication and the Ever-Growing Metropolis' on 4 July 2012 at a special session entitled "The New Urban World: A Place 4 All".  This event, which discussed the future of metropolises, was the conference’s most attended session. Based on his past research on innovation and metropolis, Dr. Sonn claimed that the ontological foundation of a metropolis is changing from space to time and from transportation to communication.

Other speakers at this event included some of the best regional scientists including Professor Peter Nijkamp, Vrije University, Netherlands and Professor Yoshihiro Higano, University of Tsukuba, Japan, the President of RSAI.
