Research on transport and infrastructure engages with sustainable modes of travel and overcoming inequalities in urban and rural mobility. Work on the particular challenges associated with delivering major infrastructure projects that increasingly characterise investment in public transport in advanced and developing economies is also being pursued.
The work of the OMEGA Centre for the
Study of Mega Projects in Transport and Development is funded by the Volvo
Research and Education Foundation and is at the core of the Bartlett School of
Planning's contribution to research on understanding how complexity,
uncertainty and risk-taking are managed in different cultures and contexts in
the planning and evaluation of transportation and infrastructure projects.
