The Bartlett is located in UCL, a multidisciplinary and world-leading university comprising 10 faculties, and providing an amazing range of expertise and rich possibilities for cross-disciplinary collaborations, from lawyers and medics, to artists and linguists. Vice-Provost of Research David Price believes that UCL's "collective wisdom is greater than the sum of its expertise", and has challenged UCL researchers to tackle some of "major challenges facing humanity". UCL actively supports a cross-disciplinary approach through its Grand Challenges programme and the instigation of hubs such as the Environment Institute and Urban Lab where specialists from different fields address key research questions collectively.
